Punjab Government buried the very concept of starting Sri Dasmesh Academy Anandpur Sahib and decided to hand over it to Bangalore based private company to run classes from KG to 10 plus 2.
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday gave a green signal to initiate a joint venture with Manipal Kindergarten to Twelve Class (K-12) to run Sri Dasmesh Academy for imparting high standard education to its students through introducing an ultra modern technically advanced system of education.
A decision to this effect has been taken in Principle Friday in Sri Dasmesh Academy Trust’s meeting held here under the chairmanship of Badal after going through a detailed power point presentation by Meena Ganesh the CEO & MD, Manipal K-12. This joint venture would start a new era in the education sector through upgrading teaching skills of the teachers by introducing an ultra modern technically advanced computer training on one hand and monitoring management of the Academy on the other.
A high level committee comprising Vice President of the Trust Surjit Singh Rakhra, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister KJS Cheema and other officers, after visiting the Academy had submitted its detailed report with the recommendations of immediate need of about Rs. 1.5 crore for the up gradation of the existing infrastructure in the Academy.
It was informed in the meeting that Manipal K-12 was imparting education in different countries as well as in 1300 schools within the country. It was also providing On Line Tutors Service under its distant education programme for the poor counties of the United States, where US government was unable to appoint some good teachers.
The trust also approved to settle the terms and conditions with the Manipal K-12 to start their operation well before the next academic session.
