Punjab govt hands over Sri Dasmesh Academy to Manipal Kindergarten

Punjab Government buried the very concept of starting Sri Dasmesh Academy Anandpur Sahib and decided to hand over it to Bangalore based private company to run classes from KG to 10 plus 2.

Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal on Friday gave a green signal to initiate a joint venture with Manipal Kindergarten to Twelve Class (K-12)  to run Sri Dasmesh Academy for imparting high standard education to its students through introducing an ultra modern technically advanced system of education.

A decision to this effect has been taken in Principle Friday in Sri Dasmesh Academy Trust’s meeting held here under the chairmanship of  Badal after going through a detailed power point presentation by  Meena Ganesh the CEO & MD, Manipal K-12. This joint venture would start a new era in the education sector through upgrading teaching skills of the teachers by introducing an ultra modern technically advanced computer training on one hand and monitoring management of the Academy on the other.

A high level committee comprising Vice President of the Trust  Surjit Singh Rakhra, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister  KJS Cheema and other officers, after visiting the Academy had submitted its detailed report with the recommendations of immediate need of about  Rs. 1.5 crore for the up gradation  of the existing infrastructure in the Academy.

It was informed in the meeting that Manipal K-12 was imparting education in different countries as well as in 1300 schools within the country. It was also providing On Line Tutors Service under its distant education programme for the poor counties of the United States, where US government was unable to appoint some good teachers.

The trust also approved to settle the terms and conditions with the Manipal K-12 to start their operation well before the next academic session.

What is required to improve Sri Dasmesh Academy?

The biggest challenge for the school Alumni. Why only the Alumni? Because they’re the only one who really cares for this institute.

Let’s take a look at some solutions:

  • Replace the current Principal with a Punjab origin Principal.
  • Students are yelling for new Faculty. So, please bring a new lot.
  • Add New/Remove Current members from the administration.

Should you choose Sri Dasmesh Academy for your child?

Lots of parents are concerned about their child’s future and want to provide them top-notch education at any cost. But, when the question comes to Sri Dasmesh Academy, no one is sure.

First of all, please make one thing very clear that this school is not providing good education at all. You’ll be impressed by the school building and area but, please don’t make your decision too early. Only 5-10% chances that your beloved will score very good marks, and that too if he studies more of his own. Moreover, he’ll be in the mediocre category.

There is a hell lot difference in current education and the past 10 years. Before 1999, this school was considered as one the best in Punjab and used to compete at national level. Now, not even at district level.

If you’re thinking to put your child in hostel here, please think twice. Instead of making his future bright, you’ll spoil his life. Faculty’s experience is not sound. Most of them are usually knock-offs from other institutes. The old faculty is not leaving the school as they’re enjoying lots of perks in one form or the other.  e.g: Free Accommodation, Free Water, Free Electricity, Free Meals in Mess and so on.

There is not a single reason which made this institution see the worst condition ever. Major reasons are as follows:

1. Same old stupid faculty playing school politics & not letting the deserved ones enter.
2. School administration itself is useless and selling school trees to feed themselves.
3. After Mr. Pradeep Mall, no principal was able to run this school well.

Finally, there are only two situations when you should send your child to this school. These are:

  • If you’re a local resident, no school is better than Sri Dasmesh Academy. It’s a CBSE school having better opportunities and your child will learn good english as well.
  • If your child is not getting admission in a prefered school due to lower percentage, you can come here. They’ll take a formality test and will give admission to your child. In most cases, they won’t even take that test.
